Support Group

The lung transplant program at Tampa General Hospital has a patient directed support group called One Breath at a new obat smallTime. This support group is headed by transplant patients and their families and is dedicated to helping transplant patients at Tampa General Hospital.

The major project that the group is involved with now is fundraising to build or buy a transplant home for pre- and post-lung transplant patients and their families. Through raffles of cars and motorcycles and charity golf tournaments, the group hopes to develop a substantial enough balance to accomplish the task of having a three to four bedroom “apartment” home for patients and families to stay at during pre- and post-transplant evaluations as well as at the time of transplant.

Members of One Breath at a Time also sponsor the yearly “Beach Bash” in the spring, a 6K run at Easter, and a Christmas party during the holidays for our transplant families. These are great times for patients to get together, renew friendships, and share success stories. Check out the photographs from the events on the website.

Additionally, Onebreathchat.com is a website where members of the TGH pre- and post-transplant team meet to share stories and support each other through this process.
